Khaled El-Enany Ezz
Minister of Egyptian Antiquities since March 23, 2016, Dr. Khaled El-Enany Ezz is also an internationally renowned scholar. A friend of France and a French speaker who subtly handles the language of Molière, he studied Egyptology in France, at the Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 University where he obtained a doctorate in Egyptology (2001). Immediately appointed lecturer at the Tourism University of Helouan (2001-2006), he became assistant professor and then holder of the chair of Egyptology (2011), with numerous responsibilities in the training of students. At the same time, he was for thirteen years an associate researcher at the French Institute of Oriental Archeology in Cairo.(IFAO). From 2007 to 2009, he co-directed the Egyptian-French excavations (Universities of Hélouan and Montpellier) of Atfi
In 2014, he was entrusted with the management of the brand new NMEC (National Museum of Egyptian Civilization), then, in 2015, that of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. That same year, the French government granted him the distinction of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres .
His abundant bibliography highlights his main specialty, the study of royal titles and the posthumous cults of the pharaohs.
